What’s new

  • Forecast-based warnings: Get alerts before predicted threshold breaches
  • Custom budget periods: Define specific start/end dates or ongoing rolling budgets
  • Automatic expiry notifications: Stay informed when budgets near expiration

👉 Why it matters: Traditional budgets only show when things go wrong. Surveil helps teams act early, ensuring ongoing compliance and predictable financial performance across projects and departments.

Recommendation Planner: Workflow and Accountability Redefined

The Recommendation Planner receives major upgrades for tracking, ownership, and governance — turning cost-saving opportunities into measurable business outcomes.

What’s new

👉 Why it matters: FinOps success depends on action, not just insight. The new Planner makes every optimization accountable, traceable, and reportable and ensures savings opportunities don’t go unclaimed.

Budget Alerts at Resource Group Scope

Budgets and alerts can now be applied directly at the Resource Group level, offering unparalleled precision in spend tracking.

👉 Why it matters: Organizations can now align cost monitoring and accountability to individual projects, teams, or business units — giving every owner clear visibility and control over their budget performance.

Savings Tracker: Extended Historical View

The Savings Tracker now retains data for a full 12 months, allowing year-over-year trend analysis and improved reporting for governance and FinOps maturity assessments.

👉 Why it matters: With longer retention, organizations can validate optimization progress, report cumulative savings, and demonstrate tangible ROI to leadership and finance stakeholders.

What’s new

  • Flags disabled or inactive accounts
  • Configurable inactivity thresholds based on last sign-in
  • Refined rule operators for tailored alert conditions
  • Modernized rule-building interface for faster setup

👉 Why it matters: Inactive accounts drive waste and risk. These updates provide visibility across every license, helping organizations reclaim unused subscriptions and maintain a stronger security posture.

Power BI Activity Monitoring
